In recent news, the Governor has ordered the closing of bars and taverns for yet another two weeks. He and his advisors are extremely concerned about home gatherings as well. I guess they don’t see the correlation between keeping everything closed and people meeting at their private residences. Do they not understand that we are social animals or is it that they do understand that and want to keep us apart? Are they afraid me might be plotting their overthrow? My message to the Governor is, just because you are paranoid does not mean that they are not out to get you!
There was a small Nevada Patriot gathering at Pah Rah Mountain Park that was invigorating and it renewed my conviction that we must join together to share information and ideas to keep our community vibrant. While I did not have guest speakers lined up, a representative from Fight for Nevada Recall Sisolak 2.0 and Melissa Clement with Nevada Right to Life wer both in attendance. They were there to share information and encourage involvement in issues that affect all of us. I just happen to have a video of the Patriots in the Park Meeting brought to you by David Block. I am grateful for both his taping and his editing skills. To view the video: CLICK HERE.
It could be a busy week should you so choose with all of the different activities taking place. As you read through all of the opportunities within our community that are available, you might consider becoming involved. This list is by no means comprehensive. There are plenty of other ways to support our community. I encourage you either test the water with your toes or just dive right in. You might be only one person and you can’t do everything, yet I challange you to do something. You don’t want to become the person that just sits and complains and does nothing. Together we can keep this community and America great.

Violence has erupted in cities throughout the country and politicians are either looking the other way or encouraging this violence, even heeding calls to “Defund the Police.” As a result, new gun sales have skyrocketed. The NRA recently reported that there are over 2,000,000 new gun owners in the USA in just the first half of 2020! For those of us who support the Second Amendment and are experienced and trained gun owners, we view this news with caution. On the one hand, it’s great that potentially so many more Americans will hopefully gain an appreciation for their Second Amendment rights. On the other hand, there are now a lot of new people with guns who may lack training and knowledge about the use of lethal weapons: not a good combination.
Speaker Debbie Block, owner of Reno Guns and Range, which is a state-of-the-art gun store, training facility, and gun range right here in Reno, can help solve this dilemma. Interestingly, Debbie wasn’t introduced to firearms until 2008, and to this day does not characterize herself as a gun expert. But around 2014, Debbie assembled a team of gun experts who had the vision of bringing a safe environment with quality training to the region. It was important to Debbie to bring a facility to our community that was comfortable, would support and empower women, children, and inexperienced shooters, as well as provide the experienced shooter with features second to none.
On Tuesday, August 25, you’re going to have an opportunity to talk directly with Debbie about gun ownership. Among the topics we will cover will be:
-Why did you decide to get into the gun business?
-For the first time gun owner – where to start, weapons selection, training, what else do you need?
-Safety mindset, responsibility, having an evolving plan.
-When, where & with whom to start a plan. Dealing with the fear of a plan.
-How young can children start learning to shoot?
-Should you get a CCW permit (concealed carry)?
-Do you need to register your gun?
-Can you use your partner’s gun? Can you buy your neighbor’s gun?

I am incredibly sad and shocked about what happened during this last Special Session #32. This should be a wake up call for all incumbents and candidates seeking office this November. They will all need to step up their game and get out there to beat the bushes. Now that ballot harvesting is on the table, it is imperative that they redouble their efforts and we need to help them in any way that we can. We have to take back our legislature! I am afraid that the next thing they will try to shove down our throats is a state income tax. I would like to thank Nevada Families for Freedom/Eagle Forum for keeping us all informed as to the on goings of what proved to be a “very” Special Session indeed.
A protest against all mail-in ballots is planned for Tuesday, August 4th in downtown Reno at 5pm. The Governor passed Bill AB4 for ALL mail-in ballots. As we already have absentee ballots, all mail-in ballots are unnecessary and creates a large potential for fraud. Yet there is something we can do, we can make our voices heard by leaving a comment for the Governor. All you have to do is write, “VETO AB4!” http://gov.nv.gov/Forms/Share/ Additionally, AJR1 & AJR2 both passed, increasing the tax on mines by 385%. Mining is Nevada’s #1 industry. This is estimated to put about 40 or more of the 104 working mines, out of business. The link for comments is http://gov.nv.gov/Forms/Share/ .
There is a rally planned for this Saturday to ensure the Black Lives Matters (BLM) protesters are outnumbered and behave themselves. The rally against the BLM planned protest will be at the Judicial Law Enforcement Center (JLEC) 1038 Buckeye Road, Minden on August 8th and 15th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. BLM is planning protests in Gardnerville for both Saturdays. As we all know, the majority of these protesters will be brought in from out of state. Gardnerville is being targeted in response to the Douglas County Sheriff, Dan Coverley, calling out the County Library Board for supporting BLM. Reminder: this is still Nevada and we are all allowed to open carry, or conceal with a permit.
The Election Integrity Project (EIP; website eip-ca.com/eipnv/), has been actively working to ensure your vote counts. They have uncovered numerous problems with voter registration roles and we all know the potential for fraud that exists with the all mail-in balloting system. To sign the petition they will be sending to President Trump, CLICK HERE. View the letter EIP has sent to Nevada’s Secretary of State, Barbara Cegavske addressing their findings CLICK HERE and their Press Release addressing thousands of ineligible persons that might receive mail in ballots CLICK HERE.
Finally, there will be an informal “Patriots in the Park” gathering at Pah Rah Mountain Park in Sparks on Sunday, August 9th at 6PM. Bring your own picnic and you might want a lawn chair as well. You will find details below.
Hold onto the bar people, we are in for a rough ride.
